The Lack of Biblical Discernment |

Jim Elliot and company (especially Jim) come off as extras from “Animal House” in this film rather than the deeply godly men we have been told and read they were. All five missionaries were portrayed as pacifists on a humanitarian covert mission, rather than as faithful “ambassadors of Christ” to bring the gospel to this primitive people. This film undeniably soils their memory. [from Steve Camp]

Chad Allen is not an innocent, closet homosexual who knows his behavior is wrong – no, he is a radical gay activist who has used his fame and fortune to promote homosexual perversion.

The first problem seems to be that Christians have been desensitized to the utter wickedness of the sin of homosexuality.[2] (Can anyone seriously imagine discussions about showing love to an unrepentant, active Klansman, Nazi, or racial bigot cast in the role of playing Martin Luther King, by allowing one of them to play King in a biographical film about his life?) End of the Spear Doesn't Pierce Hearts |

The “spear” in this movie fails to pierce hearts for it contains no mention nor proclamation of the gospel of sola fide, sola gratia, solus Christus--the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It comes then as no surprise that there is no mention of the law of God to bring conviction upon men’s souls; there is no call to repentance of any of the Waodani to flee from their sin and their dead demonic idols of worship to follow Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives; there is no proclamation of justification by faith alone. Life moves fast. If we don't take the time to chronicle the providences of God, we forget them. If we don't take the time to say thank you to those who have invested in our lives, we actually cultivate a spirit of ingratitude in our own hearts. (from Doug Phillips)

What are homeschoolers to think about their own children in light of the recent tragedy in Lititz, PA? How should we train our children and of what value is homeschooling anyway?
